Sometimes in quiet places,
The dragon breath of betrayal
wafts moist and thick over me;
a palpable thing.
I had been lost for weeks,
wandering in treacherous woods,
over rutted roads,
betrayal and abandonment the cause
my confusion the effect with
dark demons dogging my steps;
it is their breath settling into my skin.
They are waiting like vultures,
for me to give in, give up, give way.
For long moments, I failed to see
the Angel-Souls pulling me on
pulling me forward.
And they, them that pull and push me,
do not perceive each other.
I plot intricacies and escape vectors
I whirl away as one grabs and the other one beckons.
I am now at rest,
pondering my own self propulsion.
