1. Are you superstitious?
Yes and no. I think there is more unseen in the world than seen. I think there are patterns behind the unseen, and there is a connection between our material world and it. It’s a veil that is both easily and very difficultly pierced.
2. What extremes have you heard of someone going to in the name of superstition?
Not leaving the house because of x or y….
3. Believer or not, what’s your favorite superstition?
Spilling salt…. throwing over the left shoulder.
4. Do you believe in luck? If yes, do you have a lucky number/article of clothing/ritual?
Yes. I believe luck is chance and opportunity in perfect concert. Well I am involved with a ritualised spiritual system, and there are certain clothes I have and have for doing that work in. Other than that, there are other rituals one engages in.
5. Do you believe in astrology? Why or why not?
Yes I believe in astrology. I don’t know if I always believe the predictive kind that is peddled in the mass media. However, I believe that the system of astrology, which thousand of years ago was a part and parcel of the study of astronomy, is an excellent way for gauging the movements, subtle and overt of the solar system and it’s a effect on the Earth and consequently us as humans. What I also want to note, is that I believe in God. I believe that there is method behind the seeming randomness of the world and the Universe around us. I know that there is some order to the way we are born, how and when we enter the world and leave it, and where we travel to in between these entry and exit points. I believe God has a well thought out system for setting this ‘randomness’ into motion. Not even the wise can see all ends, but there are many, many opportunities to study the patterns and the thematic nature of this existence. I don’t think we can enter into any stream of consciousness, or any lifetime, or any solar system, any kind of energy field, without effecting it and being effected by it. It’s like a fundamental Universal law. Astrology is like any other science and discipline, if practised with the methodologies established by our Ancestors, in the distant antiquity of civilisation, is a valuable tool in the search for truth, light, wisdom and understanding.
