Onesome: Night: — Nights can be difficult if you need something from somewhere: what time do the stores shut down where you are? I mean, if you needed something more than a loaf of bread, is there any hope late at night?
I live about six minutes walk from the heartbeat of San Juan, in Trinidad. The Croisee. The Croisee is an intersection of Saddle Road, that runs right through the mountains and ends in Maraval, The Priority Bus Route, Eastern Main Road and El Socorro. The Croisee is always open. You can always get the basics or transport. There’s also a 24hour gas station QuikShop/AutoMart thing about two minutes away from my house. They can be a little freaky… sometimes you can get somethings, other times not. There are some things you can never get there. Bah… I don’t expect too much. Over the last couple of weeks, we’ve been liming and hanging out, and well we’ve depleted the beer, and they’re seemingly slow to restock.
Twosome: on the– River? Hey, are there any rivers near you? …or are you located out in the wilderness somewhere?
Yes, the Saddle Road I live on, is called that because it ‘saddles’ the San Juan River. I’m not in the wilderness, but this is island life, the urban areas aren’t really as urban as people would like to think.
Threesome: Town!– If you could have any “Night on the Town” you wanted, what would you like to do? …and would you like some company or would you go it alone?
This is a hard question to answer, because the best nights for me are rarely planned, and the ones that are rarely turn out to be what I had hoped for… so at best, I try to make loose plans, and allow nature, life and God (all the same thing, I think) to be par for the course.
I guess if I were to guess, a perfect night for me will always include interesting conversation, laughter, stimulating ideas, and superlative sex. Most nights aren’t like that, and haven’t been so far, but they’ve been some nice ‘almosts’.
I wonder if this didn’t include wild partying, or drinking or excess, or too many details based on precepts and concepts that ultimately are based on marketing and advertising, means my mind is liberating itself? You tell me…
