Hear what, my son may just be a genius!!! All mothers must think this, and my mother is convinced the child is a genius and talking already, but serious… the child is just not like a little baby and hasn’t been.
First off, he’s been holding up his head for about two and a half weeks already. I mean it’s a little wobbly, but he holds his head up consistently. If you put him on his tummy, he raises his head off the bed, not far and not for long, but he’s holding it up!!! When he’s sitting up, he holds his head upright and looks around. In fact, looking around is one of his favourite things. He’s not interested in toys yet so much (although Mr. Bunny is seeing plenty action) but is really fascinated by curtains for some reason.
He HATES being held in a lying down typical ‘baby’ position, he only wants to sit up. He’s so strong sometimes I am amazed. When he wriggles and arches his back, you have to hold on to him, because I fear he will twist away and fall on the floor.
This morning took the cake though. I put him on his tummy on the bed, and turned to my computer for a minute. He was furious about me putting him down and was fussing. When I turned back to look at him, he was on his BACK!!!!
I thought for a second I had forgotten I had put him on his tummy, but no I did do that.
I picked him up, cuddled him a little bit and put him back on his tummy.
I WATCHED as he rolled himself over…. he’s not even six weeks yet!
Is this normal development for a baby? BabyCenter says this doesn’t happen until they’re like two months old, and it takes some babies until they’re six months to do this… of course, I am very proud of him but is it normal…
