The tarot deck I bought at RIK is a Marseilles Deck. I am taking my time. I am reading slowly, absorbing and learning. The book that came with the deck is very explicit. It says you need to grow and develop with the deck and warned that if the deck doesn’t resonate with you, it’s useless to proceed.
So as I am reading the definitions of each card, I hold it, as I read I try to apply the definitions to what I know about life, about the way I experience the Universe. I sleep with the deck wrapped in purple satin and the head of my bed.
The Marseilles Tarot is an 18th century creation of obscure origins. It predates the occult symbolism of the Rider Waite deck by roughly 200 years, giving the readings a unique and rustic flavor. Many swear by this deck as the true oracle of the common man.

So I’ll see if in reading about the deck, and handling it, helps me to understand it; if it resonates with me. If not, I’ll discard it and try to find another deck that does speak to me. I find the Orisa Tarot is the one I most want, but am very interested in this one. From what I gather, you can have more than one; use more than one.
