For me sometimes getting things going is the hardest part.
My ADHD will keep me rooted to one spot, afraid of being judged for needing help.
But I’m old enough now, I’ve kind of begun to make peace with the fact I am unable to work like others. I’m entering my 50th year of life, if I didn’t know working in a ‘job’ and being a big corporate dodaddyhickey, was never going to be my jam, I know it now.
It’s funny how age changes you.
I started this campaign out of frustration and desperation, but it honestly is making me realize that life is about connections.
Despite my difficulties, decades of being a Black girl and woman with untreated ADHD, it has allowed me to make connections.
And now, as the last part of my life opens before me, and the fact that ‘independent living’ in the way of others is not happening for me, I turn back into the things I love. What I have always done.
Lived my life and written about it.
I’m writing over at Patreon as well. I will be posting video there and other tidbits, links and stuff I’m happy to share publicly here. This page will be more business and public facing. While the Patreon will be mostly for my more personal writing. There may be some cross posting.
I will not be posting content or any of my writing in whole to Facebook ever again. I’ve lost too many wonderful essays, commentary and notes to Mark’s Soulless Maw.
