Small miracle: my line manager spoke to her boss and got my contract extended until the 20th of May I believe.
It’s enough money that I can make a capital investment in my life and pay my rent until the end of June. It’ll be lean, but I think I’ll be alright. After that, I have no idea what is going to happen.
More good news: the agencies are almost ringing my phone off trying to see if I could fit in with various jos specs posted on the job site I’ve been using since I got to England, and where I found the job I’m doing now.
Also, I’ve got an offer to do some freelance work with a small IT consultancy in the US. It might be steady work for a while.
So in short, positive things are happening and it’s not all hopeless… allyuh know me, it’s never hopeless. It’s just I panicked because I don’t want to go back to the level of desparation I was in when I first got to England.
